Rgr Mark. Getting 8992 here as well but echoes as if I'm hearing two transmitters at the same time. 4724 is coming in L+C here.
Yeah sometimes remote sites and HF conditions are so good you are hearing two or more simulcast stations hence the echo delay.
Only other HF Coms hearing here are ZNY 5598 handing off EB aircraft to Santa Maria prob aircraft from the Carib.
2146 Got a WB from Africa to Atlanta on 6628 selcal check Delta 55

Now, at 0143z, I'm getting more ABSTRACT messages on 4724 and 8992 only. 4724 is booming in very clear, 8992 is now getting worse. Pretty cool stuff though. I need to pull out the shortwave radios more often! (y)

Yes hopefully HF band conditions will keep improving. We are coming off the longest Solar Flux low cycle in modern history.
Remember 7-10 years ago HF Airline band conditions were awsome as you heard almost everything clear.
Solar Cycle says we are on the slow HF upswing to better conditions. :)

question for the group has anyone used an sdr on the military bands

Its an awful experience for me personally, I absolutely loathe having to do it. It comes down to horrendous software written by amateurs who have never properly developed anything, front-end overloading and other stuff that doesnt bother anyone but me ;) I'd rather have multiple ongoing root canals, and after decades of SDR and not SDR, I'm much better off with a dedicated scanner instead for military bands. For HF though, I've got nothing but SDR's.

1458- Ravage flt (F-16s 121st FS DC ANG) working on discrete (285.225) at unknown range. Working against real or simulated ground targets. Based on signal strength, I'm guessing their working in the PAX areas.

1503- ADS-B showing Gecko 25 (MC-12 # 84-00150) off DCA and heading west.

1455- SAM 000 (C-37 # 97-0400 AE010D) off ADW heading southwest. Unusual SAM flt number.

1517- Axeman & Wardog flts (A-10Cs 104th FS MD ANG) working Bay Watch (305.2) for entry into R-6609. Also working discrete (266.6)
