Hi im a aviation nut i live about 7 miles from warren grove gunnery range. im bugging my self to get a scanner so i know when the MD ang a10s and the f16s from my state go training. ive been told the bearcat 125at is capable of picking up the frequencies and is not capable of picking them up. looking for tips and advise. Thanks

ha ha my friend thought he heard CHEATER. Airscan will have to use his LiveATC expertise and give us a full report later when he reviews the comms.

CHEATER 10 was the C-130. The F-16s callsign sounded like JUNIOR to me.

The bearcrap IS capable of picking up most of the frequencies used by the aircraft. If you are line of sight to the range control (or specifically their tx site) then you should be able to pick up the ground side of those comms as well.
For range ground operations suitability would mainly rest on whether they are using any digital /trunked system as that specific bearcrap is analogue/non-trunked only.

There are other cheaper options which might give greater flexability if you don't need it to be handheld and you already have a windows/linux computer. However the whole subject is really better suited to other sections of the bulletin board.

RETRO 11 is on 394.600

RETRO11 yesterday also on 140.375 A/A

1238 EST- Picking up the A2A transmission on 274.450, not sure who is on the receiving end from INDY82
Update: from the looks of it, Looks like its VENUE74 KC10 from McGuire

1245 EST- VENUE74 is trying to make it out of the track by 1730
