RCH494 C-5M 85-0007 off Hawaii on slight Northerly East track. Prob aiming for Travis. Been a long trip getting home from Down Under.

When I was stationed in Australia, we used to have a C-141 or C-5 visit almost every week. Route was typically Travis - Hickam - Christchurch - Richmond - Learmonth, sometimes Pago-Pago would be added to their route. It was funny how often there was a mechanical problem at Richmond.

Was “stranded” in Hawaii after turning back Monday due to a loss of pressurization (but not decompression). A few of the CPLDC messages via this site and Facebook:

[21:41:12] ALL THINGS STABLE ON BOARD CONFIRM NEGATIVE EMERGENCY ADVISE

[21:03:25] REQUEST DESCENT TO 18000 FT DUE TO AIRCRAFT PERFORMANCE

[22:17:12] STILL NORMAL OPS

[22:18:22] AFIRMATIVE PRESSURIZATION ISSUES PRIOR TO ETP

Rgr those C-5's even the new ones have occasional bleed air duct problems that pressurize the plane.
Those big floppy wings wreak havoc sometimes with air duct work from the wing supply engine.
Also they got a mess of doors that sometimes get seal leaks.. New engines and avionics were great C-5M upgrade
but still has some of the same old problems :(

Some good news for our local Del ANG 166AW as starting tomorrow they will be getting later model upgraded C-130H's
from Kentucky and other bases that are getting the new C-130J's.

1510 local CASTLE-59 up from North Carolina tail 93-1459 landing KILG. This shows as Texas tail and guess Del crews have
been qualifying with this tail since early June.

Looks like night hours with touch and go at Newport News

BTW FLOTUS stops in Alaska then Hawaii on the way to Tokyo (I think) but no idea where she will be on Thursday and Friday or if she comes back to DC. Anchorage, Alaska on Wednesday, July 21 and Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25
