1550- Arris 46 (KC-46 # 18-46041) working w/unid F-18 in Atlantic Test Track (341.95) at FL350. Chat about using "basket" for AAR. Sounds like the F-18 is "204" which would make him Salty Dog from VX-23 at PAX. Interesting listening. Both the F-18 pilot and the KC-46 person are really good at their jobs. They are really putting the AAR system through it's paces. Arris 46 also working Giantkiller (249.8).

1310 local on ZDC 257.700 coming North sounded like Doctor-91 or Dakka 91 single enroute DPK Deerpark NY
via ZIGGI waypoint and will rtb direct Oceana. Marblemouth Navy pilot hard to understand his callsign.UHF/VHF band also not great today.
I guess no Hudson trip this time.. Up the coast to JFK area and back. Pushed ZDC 281.450
ZIGGI waypoint | OpenNav

1345 NIGHTHAWK-321 on UHF KILG tower 352.050 reports lots of feedback on your 126-0 freq.

1630 local see BUFF from Minot over NW Pa.. Was headed this way now turned NE towards Buffalo :(

There is a B52 I thought was heading to cold, snowy, icy dark Canada.
However, he is making a right turn over Buffalo so perhaps the pilot changed his mind when he saw all the ice and snow!
Canada doesn't permit US bombers on routine practice over their territory.
Only on NATO missions. Think that goes back to 1961 when a Buff crashed with possible nukes off coast of Canada.

They recently did NATO show of force over Canada this past August..
B-52 bombers fly over every NATO nation in show of force to Putin, Belarus - Washington Times

Callsign FEAR 5th BW Minot Buff is on Ron's list..

I think the callsign is FEAR 43/44

Ah that would make more sense. Are you getting any A-A ?

1708- FEAR 43 to ZBW 348.700
1709- FEAR 44 to ZBW 282.200 I guess they did split.
1714- FEAR 44 cleared direct to (?), to ZBW 348.700. Might have been direct to BOS, which seems where they are going.
1723- FEAR 43 up on ZBW.
1727- FEAR 44 up on ZBW same as 43.

Never did get an A/A on searching the FEARS. FEAR-44 last heard ZDC Sea Isle but not heard on ZDC Swann 360.700
where FEAR-43 went.. Got to land or get some juice soon I would think.
McGuire TEAM tankers look like headed out to AR-777 so probably not for them.
1849 FEAR-43 on ZDC Blackstone 235.625

1900 local Niagara Falls KC-135 #58-0038 says we are having auto pilot issues so will rtb ..sorry bout that on AR-220 274.450
I think were for RHINO-51 C-17 out of Ohio.

Thanks to all the group that was a rare fun Thursday Buff exercise around here in the Eastern US.
Made me late for dinner :)
Don't ever recall Minot Buffs doing that around here.
Crazy timing though with peak Dinner time congested Eastern airport traffic Boston to DC and still made it thru.
ATC's had their hands full with them. Course a little zig zagging.
I think and thanks to Terry's pic and coms also they did split down NJ way and did rejoin offshore N.C.
Not sure what they are using for A/A these days.. Maybe Satcom or Link-16 freqs..
