Callsign was BISON 81. Looks like it was returning from a 1 year TDY at Beale. Left in March 2021 as TAHOE 91.
Rgr Air saw was NY ANG tail originally but had TAHOE callsign for a long while. Been repossessed :)
That HF 8992 is almost unusable now with constant chainsaw digital traffic.. Back to 11175.
Purty AC-130W that 88-1306 now.. A few of them at night could reek havoc on ground convoys.
88-1306 | Lockheed AC-130W Stinger II | United States - US Air Force (USAF) | Rami Mizrahi | JetPhotos

2025 VINYL-65 C-17 07-7169 from Andrews inbound KDOV on CP 349.400 alpha 1.
Nice to hear UHF CP back up again.

I hope this isn't too off topic, but does the military use any shortwave frequencies? Asking because I just got a shortwave radio.

A couple of active U.S. military HF frequencies to start with are 8992 kHz and 11175 kHz upper sideband (USB). You'll hear periodic formatted voice Emergency Action Messages. Lately 8992 has a loud buzzing digital data signal as well as the voice transmissions.

1831z Update - BLUE 41 inbound Pease, RETRO 91 flight inbound Barnes KBAF. Currently working ZBW 269.475 and A-A on 326.375

Anyone know if these are Lakenheath birds?
BLUE-41 headed West today at FL250.. They bring the Retro's with them?
Maybe dropping them off at the Oregon ANG or Cal ANG? :)
