Luftwaffe A340 16+01 Konrad Adenauer takes German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Montréal for meetings with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The stated purpose of the trip is to explore joint clean hydrogen and windmill energy ventures. However, it is rumored that Scholz will beg Trudeau to look the other way on Russia sanctions so Siemens' Montréal, Canada facility can repair Nord Stream's Portovaya compressor station turbines and get that dirty Russian natural gas flowing to Germany for the winter.

247.050 CAP A/R has been BUSY the last three hours - sometimes clear as a bell, sometimes distant and scratchy (I'm at the corner of 11th & H, NW, DC.

13:57 - on 247.050 aircraft stated he was going west. The other aircraft stated something to the affect "We'll do left hand turns." Then someone asked "How long are you guys here fore?" Responding pilot stated "It's a half hour drive and we're here about 6 hours."

14:10 on 260.900 "43" was clear, then there were several transmissions I couldn't copy.

16:15 on 260.900 there was a detailed weather report for Dover AFB. I checked RadarBox and Nice 44 (KC-46A 16-46018) was flying near Dover.

16:38 there were secure comm's on a/a "Full House" (333.550)

There have been a lot of short transmissions on 259.000 (a/a for someone) - one was clear where one pilot asked the other if he had tried something. The other pilot replied he had but it had worn off after a few hours.

243.000 I'm getting transmissions that sound like secure comm's? Or is it interference?

Chicago Air and Water show had lousy wx Saturday and clips I have seen so far today wasn't much better.
Look for the Maryland ANG A-10's to return Monday sometime.. SPORT-01 flight of 4.
Fat Albert Navy Blue Angels C-130 now showing bugging out for Pensacola as VMBA10 on mode s.

Wednesday is Atlantic City flyby airshow and USAF T-Birds will have to do Oregon to A/C I assume Monday as well.
Will take a tanker or two to make that happen..

Not a great lineup so far scheduled at A/C. Besides T-Birds the FA/18 Rhino Demo team.
Practice show is Tuesday at 11am. They don't even list the usual NJ ANG flybys etc.
I went to this a couple times and problem is from beach photo wise your looking into Eastern Sun and hazy/humid August sky as grey aircraft flyby.
Unless your offshore in a boat I would skip this one. Course sitting at Boardwalk Casino bar watching the show was ok while skipping work.
Those three martini lunch folks didn't care who was flying by :)

2025 local BOXER-42 B-737BBJ/C40B DC ANG showing Eastbound near Kansas City FL390 staight from Hawaii.
Sure has good long range with those added extended range fuel tanks aboard. Not many 737's can do that :)
He just landed at Andrews. I copied him when he was a short ways out. Wanted a place to park, 140k pounds of fuel (I'd hate to see THAT bill!) and 5 or 10 pound bag of ice if it was possible.

17:27 on 228.900 transmission was scratchy but I did hear "Noble".

17:48 on 228.900 pilot said to "mark our current position, we have about 30 miles to the east before the weather sets in."

18:28 on 228.900 I heard the pilot say something about a tanker, "radar contact", and then 31625 - I don't know if he meant switch to 316.250 - is that a valid frequency in this area? I don't know how to put frequencies into the SDS100 "on the fly", otherwise I would have checked it.

Could be. Radar contact, 316 degrees @ 25 miles. Just my WAG. :D

The Wash DC Marines had a good show Friday night at their Barracks.
DVIDS - Video - Marine Barracks Washington Evening Parade August 19th (dvidshub.net)

Awesome show, through a misunderstanding (never interfere with your enemy when he's making a mistake :)) my wife and I were seated in the VIP section three years ago in the pre-Covid era.

'Sir, your names are not on the list, may I see your tickets?'

'We don't have tickets. We were told that some might be left over and to ask before the performance.'

'Sir, check with the Colonel over there, he's the XO (executive officer).'

'Excuse me Colonel, we were wondering if any tickets to the Evening Parade are still available?'

With a well-rehearsed 'wanna buy a watch?' sly glance left and right he says 'Pssst, how many do you need?'

'Two'. He reaches in his coat pocket, produces the tickets and says 'Enjoy the show!'

'Sir, your names are not on the list, where did you get these tickets?'

'The Colonel over there gave them to us.'

'Sorry sir, I did not realize that you are guests of the XO, allow me to escort you to your seats in the VIP section.'

My advice: don't take a knee when they play the National Anthem.
