BACKY51, BACKY52, EDDIE91, and EDDIE61 are all flying at 28000 on the same route of flight stretching from St. Louis and Kentucky heading west. Any idea what's going on here?
Heading to Nellis via the “Fighting Eagle Neptune ALTRV.”

Here's a clip of FIRST 31 flight air to air on 257.075 while tanking with EDDIE 61 over Kentucky. They chat about fuel venting from one of the planes, creature comforts in fighters and tankers and tell the world's oldest joke about the fighter pilot trying to impress the tanker pilot. Some boom operators are qualified as flight attendants and know how to cook.

This clip shows the clicks at the end of the F-22 transmissions that jsoergel has told me about. I wondered if it might be a squelch tail issue with his more modern digital receiver but these clicks definitely show up on the old BCT15X as well when you load the clip into Audacity.

Nice catches.. took me a few to figure out who then looked at those Aux A/A before realizing I
have them all in my scanner as Langley birds :)
They just had some Langley F-22's for Red Flag back in July. Maybe different squadron players today.
Nellis in July.. ugh. Real hot Desert training.

Rgr. All 3 A2A freqs are Langley freqs. 228.45 is a 71st Sqdn (T-38s) freq and 262.025 & 257.075 as 27th FS (F-22s). That said, all three groups could be F-22s.

All four flights were 27th FS F-22s; T-38s can’t refuel inflight and the ALTRV was referred to as “Fighting Eagle Neptune,” their squadron nickname.

FIRST 21 serials given on AR-455 boom freq 336.1 in order: 09-4174, 09-4182, 09-4180 and 04-4067.

These are all F-22s, (most likely A models ;)).

Just for info, unless things have changed, the load-master, flight attendant, and boom operator career fields merged several years ago. Whether they are all fully cross trained is still a question. Disregard, it didn't happen.

Thanks
Joel
