Atlantic City F-16 298.600 DEVIL but may not be related. Also 1st FW 296.900 also a couple hits.
2046 local Coms on A/C F-16 freq 294.725 mentioned something about Coronet.
2050 local GOLD-81 holding at FL22k and 405 knots over State College Pa.
Still getting some local A/A chatter on 294.725.. Talking low level stuff about 3k etc.
2100 local GOLD-81 turns hard SW
2102 DEVIL flight on Warren Grove range 283.100.No wonder they are hard to hear. Hitting their own local bombing range :)

The 177th FW is scheduled for Base exercise this weekend.

with AF1 09-0016 just south of Detroit also coming to KILG. First time in a while two C-32’s are at ILG at the same time.

No photos because I was just letting the dogs out before closing up the house for the night, but I just had another Air Force One encounter. As noted above President Biden arrived in New Castle just before 11pm wrapping up a West Coast series of events, and when I was out with the dogs the 09-0016 plane was taking off after dropping him off, heading home to Andrews Air Force Base and the 89th Airlift Wing. Interesting that it was not the big Boeing aircraft but one of the the C-32s.

Rgr. Noble 2 did advise Modena that he was coming back from Philly to rejoin the CAP.
Seems lately NORAD/BIGFOOT 260.900 has been sending these guys on wild goose chases lately.
By the time they get clearance/heading etc down thru the cloud deck the TOI is long gone off their radars.
Weekends were made for the small private planes which makes their job harder :)

0957 NOBLE-02 req down to 13k on ZDC 307.250 then says disregard.
Earlier were tracking a Cessna 501 jet as heard N7TK on 121.500 flying SB thru Pa but he got out of area quickly.
N7TK Flight Tracking and History 16-Oct-2022 (KWST-KOKV) - FlightAware

Hearing some Andrews BULLY flight, A/A 238.175 and ZNY headed North

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. Which explains the landings at PHL or Dover AFB. Is there an operational reason? I've seen photos of it at New Castle in the past, before I moved here.

The 747 has lots of tires and brakes and can operate off the ILG runways when the plane is light and the conditions are good. However, it looks to me like bad weather and less than good braking action would be a showstopper for the VC-25 at ILG. And, if the weather is bad, MARINE ONE is not an option.

Also, I don't believe that the VC-25 is certified for RNAV (GPS) approaches so the ILS to runway 1 would be the only option for a precision instrument approach. The C-32 can do RNAV (GPS) so if the visibility or ceiling goes down, RNAV (GPS) approaches to runways 1, 9, 19 and 27 at ILG are available.

That's my guess but I don't claim to know for sure.

If you really want to get confused, take a look at the RNAV (GPS) for runway 1 at ILG. ;)
