Must have been some CG Academy gig.

Interesting Airscan as I guess McGuire said we need that tail back as you had your 3-4 days.
Always having a tough time getting F-35's out of Fort Worth these days.Supposedly article said

The 747 has lots of tires and brakes and can operate off the ILG runways when the plane is light and the conditions are good. However, it looks to me like bad weather and less than good braking action would be a showstopper for the VC-25 at ILG. And, if the weather is bad, MARINE ONE is not an option.

Also, I don't believe that the VC-25 is certified for RNAV (GPS) approaches so the ILS to runway 1 would be the only option for a precision instrument approach. The C-32 can do RNAV (GPS) so if the visibility or ceiling goes down, RNAV (GPS) approaches to runways 1, 9, 19 and 27 at ILG are available.

That's my guess but I don't claim to know for sure.

If you really want to get confused, take a look at the RNAV (GPS) for runway 1 at ILG. ;)

Thanks for the informed speculation! I've seen C-32 landing use runway 1 and 32, and last night 09-0016 took off to the east on 9/27.

Good afternoon,
Probably just one cell will depart later today from Honolulu. When they arrived they were using Pacific boom
frequencies 242.500 and 242.700. I would expect them to arrive in CONUS on their designated ones 391.00 and 293.00.
This afternoon here a couple of Andrews KC-135's headed West for the Pacific area.
RUMMY-73 #61-0307 followed by RUMMY-63 #59-1469.

The RUMMYs are on the way to March ARB in California for the first stop. They are talking air to air on 239.4.

One of the planes has a bad HF radio, wants to swap some parts with the other aircraft on the ground at March for troubleshooting.

An article about the re-opening of the National Cryptologic Museum across the street from NSA headquarters at Ft. Meade, Maryland.

U.S. Has Made 'Dramatic Change' in Technology Used for Nuclear Code System (newsncr.com)

The 'baseball cards' with nuke codes mentioned in the article have been around at least since the 1970s. They are like lottery tickets, tamper-evident and conceal the contents until broken open.

Thanks mdmonitor for your service. (y)

Bill

Thanks for the salute. It was my honor to serve in both the USAF & at NSA. Was there from 1965-1996. Was there for all the "good times" ;)

Potus wants to sleep in a bit more Monday so times changed for departure.
I'm sure CAP guys are thrilled with that :(
2/4512 NOTAM Details (faa.gov)

Rare sight RCH-182 Travis C-5M #68-0216 off Bangor westbound from Nice France with satellite for Vandenburg.
The old NASA special C-5A used for stuff like this.. Modified for extra large space cargo.
I think they did away with most of the upper deck seating and other amenities on this one and #68-0213

E-6B SLOTH 92 will head out over the Atlantic for a few hours and do some TACAMO stuff (presumably on 17.8 kHz) before recovering at Navy Pax River later this evening.

View attachment 129575
SLOTH 92 called Terre Haute Radio 255.400 around 2050Z asking for the score of the Ravens-Giants game.

Maybe sometime next week then!
There's a NATO exercise coming up so look out for some Minot B52s heading Stateside to Europe.
Rgr Russia has added some more Notams up that way.. Should be a good NATO showing.
Bogus Notams as we won't get near them but gets their attention for publicity.
