Great vid once again from Elwyn of Wales on his recent tour outside of Las Vegas climbing the desert hills in the low level training area.
Noticed also the larger wings on the Navy F-35C as compared to USAF F-35A as it came thru.. This guy is great milair photog..

This is great material. I really need to take a trip west, but I guess first I'd need to find if there's a photography forum where these locations are discussed and specified. I'm sure there's legwork involved, but I once climbed Tikaboo Peak in Nevada to take in the clear-but-distant view of Area 51/Groom Lake, so I'm game ;)

1026- CROOK 25, B350 doing patterns around Lakehurst NAS, SNC testing A/G 255.75
255.75 has been pretty active in Ocean Co NJ area. I only recently found out about this freq. Air-air and air-ground.
(Thanks to Tech792 and MANY others on this thread for sharing active frequencies.)

You would think that the accessibility of commercial satellite imagery would make privacy TFRs obsolete.

For the peeking part, yes probably, if it was important enough. But not for the congestion the news media helos bring to a scene. Here in Raleigh there have been several times LE has requested an immediate TFR to clear out the media from overhead.

Yes, but those aren’t usually prolonged incidents (thinking several days). And the area of interest usually is too small for satellite anyway (like a house or crime scene etc). I think you could see a B-2 off the runway at Whiteman from a satellite pretty well, especially because it’ll be there for a while.

That is why I said the use of satellites would make a TFR irrelevant for the peeking part, but not for minor incidents where a satellite wouldn't be cost effective or available in a timely mannere.

Pax River been making some noises off New Jersey :)
I don't think it was T-38's as last week heard "SCORE-99 flight of two" headed up that way from VX-20.
I didn't think much of it at the time except callsign and was with Dover apch on way out. Have to keep ear out for "SCORE-"

Maybe the B-21 will be doing some testing.

Looks like the spare aircraft that flew to LAX to support AF2 this weekend did a little racetrack within White Sands Missile Range's R-5107 at FL310 for a little less than two hours this morning (~0230E) on it's way back home. Flew as VENUS94. Odd. There was also an AC-130J (16-5837, from Cannon AFB) doing race tracks in the same airspace at the same time. No idea if related.

Nice catches Dan.. All of the VFA-105 freqs were on Jared's heads up list from last Weds.
Guess Navy units don't change squad freqs often.. :)

"Possible VFA-105 freqs:
340.350, 255.125, 274.100, 246.800, 251.225, 357.000 "

Cool Golden Knights parachute drop vid at the game. Seemed he had trouble adjusting his right
control cords..Looked kind of hairy there for a minute.

"The defendant, who was transferred to U.S. custody in Mali, arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens, New York, on Dec. 9, 2022..."

Anyone remember any weird flyers into JFK on Friday? Wasn't one of the FBI Gulfstreams. In the past, extraditions from war zones have been via C-17s.
