I've been watching that F-15 north of the Pack Pegasus tankers, anyone hearing any comms? I wonder what he is up to?
He was at 37,000 going up and down around that altitude and rapid changes in speed, at one time he was close to Mach 1 with almost 800 MPH indicated ground speed! I wonder if he is chasing something.
He went down low for a bit and went off RADAR.
He's at 11,800 now headed back towards Westover ARB where I think he originally came from.
I'm not positive, but 800 MPH is supersonic at any altitude (the speed of sound goes down as altitude goes up).

Thanks
Joel

PACK 81 and 82 in the Lighting 4 ATCAA again, not sure who they’re working with.

I wasn't able to listen live but checking the ZBW archives there was Langley/KLFI F-22s RAPTOR 1, Barnes/KBAF F-15s RAMBO 1 as well as Burlington/KBTV F-35s POLECAT 1, SPRUCE 11 (x4), LINCOLN 21, STROKE 31 (x3). All working Viper/Lighting at the same time.

First time I've heard KBTV F-35s use 1 digit in their callsign (POLECAT 1), usually they use 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x etc. Maybe indicative of their mission as they are not usually working with F-22s and F-15s at the same time either ?

The fastest I saw them on ADSB-X was grounding 786 knots (904 mph). Mach 1 at 37000 feet (ISA -56C) is around 574 knots (660 mph). Looking at the upper winds they were getting a good push in that direction so it's not inconceivable they were still under Mach 1 (True Air Speed). Not sure what the rules are for going supersonic in that area ?

RAMBO 1 was a flight of 2.

Guys,

The other day I asked a listener down in FL about A2A freqs for the NAS JAX P-8s. Since we get some up our way thought that they might be using discrete A2A freqs when there are a couple of them in our area like the other day.

Here's what he sent:

Mostly they use the common air-air's:
246.800
246.900
303.000

And on occasion they will use 285.000.

It might be worth checking their base ops freqs just in case:
264.200
271.400
306.000 VP-30

I know the technology is way different but I can't help but think that it looks like it is from WWII

1010- Flt of three McGuire KC-46s (Duce 15, Duce 16 & Cando 01) heading north. Currently over Albany NY. Maybe heading for Viper/Lightning or Ft Drum.

1015- Vinyl 23 (KC-46 # 15-46070) off McGuire heading west. Vinyl callsign usually denotes POTUS support flt.

1025- Maybe NJ ANG F-16s out in W107. Hearing ACM chat on 294.725 & 339.725. No calls noted

[lucy you've got some splainin to do] -- its Mach 1.3

Looks like this area is part of the Adirondack Park training area.

While other literature says there is another High Altitude Supersonic Corridor -- like that over Edwards -- there is no firm documentation that shows this area is such. Now the FAA rules do not apply to above FL600, AF policy should to some degree.

The DMNA site looks like a platform to "snitch" at.
