Special Air Traffic Procedures in Effect for Super Bowl LIII

In anticipation of a large number of aircraft operating in the Atlanta area during the week of Super Bowl LIII, special security provisions will be in effect for this event including (but not limited to) Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), two−way communication, and discrete transponder requirements. Pilots are encouraged to check Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) frequently to verify they have the most current information. To view the text and graphic depictions of the restrictions, go to . A plain-language description of the TFR is available [URL=superbowl.faa.gov/tfr_superbowl53] .

Also note that the airspace around Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be a No Drone Zone on game day and during certain times in the days leading up to the game. For more details,

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter flies near Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, January 30, 2019. Officers and agents of CBP work in cooperation with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of Super Bowl LIII. Also shown is an air interdiction agent with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations cleaning the windshield of a CBP UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Marietta, Georgia, January 30, 2019. Also have been seeing CBP helo N3944A in flight last night and today.

I guess it is the Thunderbirds making the fast passes over the stadium the last couple of days. They just now did two passes from North to South...

Great photos! I wonder if Military will be a factor protecting the skies as well during the Super Bowl.

Can't take credit for those they are CBP photos. You might also look for N3938A, another CBP helo at Dobbins. (those could be the three that @ChrisP saw yesterday)

According to the South Carolina Air National Guard Facebook page, yes they will be:
https://www.facebook.com/scang.swampfox/

"Earlier today, CBS News Correspondent David Martin, flew with the South Carolina Air National Guard's 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C. The flight showcased NORAD's air defense mission and included intercept operations with a Civil Air Patrol aircraft and an inflight refueling with a Tennessee Air National Guard KC-135 from the 134th Air Refueling Wing. NORAD, along with their interagency partners (FAA, DHS, and CBP) will be providing the air defense shield for this year's Super Bowl being held in Atlanta, GA."

Love the links/info/videos! Lots of good activity tonight on the Mutual Aid SWAT channels. There are snipers all over the place and they are currently monitoring a drone that is flying over the Tabernacle.
