I know it does not get much praise here,but i have nothing but positives to say about this little loop antenna.I got my from a Japanese website,and picked it up for 387 plus free shipping,so the price was not bad.I also have the miracle antenna,and was comparing the LA400 loop to that,and all bands there was a big difference,atleast one S-unit or higher.It even amazed me on the VHF public service channels.I do have the extension coming in the mail,so i will be able to place it in an area possibly more quiet.The loops sure do pick up lots of electric noises in such..I give 2 thumbs up on the LA 400 loop antenna.Nice job AOR.
I know it's not a scientific study,i sure would recommend the antenna.

I just purchased an AOR LA400 from a Japanese site also however I didn't get the free shipping. I still saved over $130 going that route. I'm anxious to see how well it works with my R-75 and R-7000 as a secondary antenna. I'm getting the extension cables too. Let us know how your antenna is working for you.

I thought i was getting the extension cable,but Universal Radio has them on back order.How long will it take? Who knows.

I did order Cat6 cable,you think that should work?

It takes 2 different cables. One in Cat 5. The other is 10m of RG58/U coax with female bnc connectors. Check Universal's website then look at the details on the cable option

I just purchased an AOR LA400 from a Japanese site also ...

Was that site global.rakuten.com?

Was the supplied AC adapter suitable for the US?

The LA400 is also available from Universal, but it's very pricey...

I had alot of difficulty dealing with the International Rakuten. They took my money but never sent the antenna. I corresponded with them numerous times and even that was extremely difficult. I had to translate sentences numerous times. Finally, after weeks of pleading for them to send the antenna and proving they had my money, I complained to my bank which refunded my money and found Rakuten to be in error. If possible, do not deal with them.

I received the LA400 today. Even before my credit card has been charged. So, a good experience with Rakuten after all.

Very impressed with the LA400. Seems like a perfect companion to the CR-1.
