• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hey Everyone,

Was browsing eBay and I came across this Motorola CDM1550 LS+. The listing also says its a GR500? What I'm most curious about is the box the mobile is attached too. It has some supervisor and intercom buttons.
Anyone want to enlighten me on what this attachment does?

Thanks

That's word salad in the posting. The model number HPN9033A is for the power supply in side that box, not the device it self. It's also not a repeater. It looks to be someone finding "authoritative" information on the ebays and internets of the world wide web, and copy pasta'ing into their post, just for the L@@Ks and site views.

The correct part number for that is the RLN5403, and from the brochures...

The CDM Control Station converts a CDM750 TM, CDM1250 TM, CDM1550TM ,or CDM1550.LS +TM two-way radio into an attractive,
convenient base station. This makes an ideal communication solution for transportation, manufacturing, construction and public safety users.

I'll have to look around in the archives to see if I ever caught that PDF up in my collections...

I found it mentioned in another CDM sales brochure, and it says

The CDM Control Station converts a CDM Professional Series mobile into a convenient base station. The radio mounts into
the lightweight, portable chassis, containing a full range of front panel control buttons plus an internal microphone,
speaker and power supply. A front connector allows for a range of external audio accessories; including a desk
microphone, tone or DC remote adapter and telephone interconnect. Additional desktop tray and microphone
options are available for simple base station operation

It's a control station adapter, here's the manual for it: CDM Control Station

A remote (DC or tone) adapter panel and wireline remotes can be added to the control station. When remotes are in use the intercom and supervisor buttons have these functions:

Intercom - allows the operator at the control station to talk to other wireline remotes without transmitting over the air.

Supervisor - disables the wireline remotes and allows the control station operator to take over control of the radio.
