Lane County which owns the master switch for the SW 7 County P25 system that is also used by Linn and Benton Counties received an interoperability grant and will be purchasing an ISSI link to link the SW 7 County Motorola P25 system with the new State Radio Project Harris P25 system.

The SW 7 County system will still be a separate system but the document mentions that Motorola will configure up to 20 talkgroups to be linked to the State Radio Project.

Since Linn County & Benton County P25 users are on 700MHz already their APX radios will be updated to the latest firmware so they can "auto roam" between their existing system and the new state system.

But since Lane County P25 users are UHF and their XTS/XTL radios can't do 700MHz they are going to setup new dedicated interop talkgroups or they will patch certain existing Lane County talkgroups to new tallkgroups on the State Radio Project to allow county users to talk with OSP and ODOT.

I remember reading one of the monthly progress reports for the State Radio Project a while back that briefly mentioned that the Frontier Digital Network has applied for a grant to get an ISSI switch to link their system with the state system.
