I received this radio about a week ago and I like it. Great for UHF/VHF Ham. It is also referred to online as a UV36. I would describe it as a nice upgrade to the UV32, which I also have. The UV32 is a nice radio and good bang for the buck. But there are 2 things I do not like about the UV32...
1) The speaker is on the back of the radio. This might be fine for some people, but my tired old ears need the speaker in my face.
2) As a result of this design, there is no provision for a belt clip. There are aftermarket slip-on clips, but they are bulky and ugly.
The UV36 solves the speaker & belt clip problem. Both are welcome improvements. The additional freqs/modes are nice, as well as bluetooth speaker connectivity. It is also Chirp compatible by selecting UV32 in the drop-down menu. My radio is the black & grey color scheme. In my humble opinion the UV36 is as nice looking as any CCR on the market.
