From central KY I am picking up a very weak federal uhf trunking system. The sysid is 8d19, the control channel now is 407.6125. The system is not in the rr.com
database. Trunker shows it as a Type II system with a conect tone of 128.57
Does anyone know who this is?

Do you have a digital scanner because my guess it is a military system probably digital since military seems to be going that way APCO-25. The only people I have seen use the low 400's are the military.

The signal is gone now. I never could get a good enough signal using the PRO-96 to see what kind of traffic it was. I was only able to get the sysid and connect tone using trunker.

Hey Trashman:
There is a United States Prison (USP McCreary) in Mc Creary County to your south, if they are like the others I have monitored, they probably use some version of the Federal trunking system--the big problem with trying to figure these things out is they have a different set of rules... The National Forest uses primarily hi-vhf--I can't find my lidst of there freqs but will scrub that when I find it... keep us posted...

You might want to check out the facility mentioned in one of the other posts "138.225 PL 173.8 Repeater" I dont know where you live but if your near the training center it might be a good place to look also.

Today, while in Clay and Laurel Counties I picked up another unknown system: 36:B12F and the one freq that identified with it: 410.00000... couldn't make out any talk but every-so-often the control channel cut thru the haze.... also picked up an Operations tg on 8D19---didn't get enough info to figure out what they are but they were talking.....

info submitted for inclusion in case anyone else can take it further.... good luck!
