A severe thunderstorm rapidly developed over north-central Teller County after 3 p.m. Wednesday, producing a tornado 3 miles northwest of Woodland Park.
A forest service employee spotted the tornado along with Doppler Radar at 3:35 p.m.; it remained on the ground for several minutes.

The tornado knocked down dozens of trees in the vicinity of Forest Service Road 357 and County Road 78.
