Hello, Terrell police have gone to where you cannot hardly hear what they are saying. This started sometime last week. Does anyone know if they went to another talkgroup or something? I hooked my scanner up to my computer to log to see what is going on. Fire is talking on ID 611 and Police is ID 601. the police side is garbled and not understandable. I try pulling up the feed on broadcastify and they are not even picking up what I do. They have no activity.

I believe it is freescan I use it to program my Uniden BCD325P2 hand held scanner and my Uniden BCD996P2 desktop scanner. This was logged having the usb connect to my computer using the remote control function. The freescan app also can import the frequency and such from radiorefrence.

@hlamb120 where are you trying to monitor the system from and what system?
I ask because 601 with Encryption and 611 clear are now coming in on the GMRSs System. 611 is fire dispatch with locations in Terrell.
This started a week ago. It also came at the same time Balch Springs was down for radio maintenance and PD was using Law IO 5 for most of the afternoon. When it came back up on the Balch Springs fire side the radio techs were saying OK you now have conventional and trunking capable radios on the Balch Springs P25 conventional channels. I have been scratching my head for a week wondering why Terrell has 2 TG on the GMRSs system. I kinda get it if CareFlite (ground ambulance) services both agencies as then maybe its a way for the dispatchers to send ambulances back and fort for coverage. But thats all i could come up with.

I listen in Terrell and my findings are coming up on the Terrell P25 system. Which 10001 is supposed to be Terrell PD dispatch but that is now coming up on 601 and Terrell Fire which was 10008 is now 611. My wife did hear last week a call come out to come back to station to pickup new radios. FD sometimes come in clear but PD appears to be encrypted now. I did try to listen on Kaufman County simaacast for Terrell PD and FD and it is a little more understandable but the sound still kinda goes up and down.

What scanner are you using?
I can confirm on the GMRSs system 601 is ENC and 611 is clear.
I have a Uniden BCD325P2 handheld scanner on my desk and Uniden BCD996P2 scanner I use in my vehicle. To program them I use FreeScan which allows me to download the information straight from radio reference.

is terrell simulcast
The original Terrell system had two transmitter sites, so technically, it would be.

However, I am seeing the two TGIDs mentioned as being Terrell (601 & 611) show up on the GMRS Simulcast site on my ProScan logs. Not seeing anything "Terrell" on either their old system, nor the Kaufman P25 site. (I'm not seeing a control channel on the old Terrell system, but due to the distance to Terrell from my residence in Dallas, that could simply be because I am out of range. It never was a very strong system for me to receive.)

Terrell recently (April of this year) made some emission codes modifications to their license, which poses the question if they plan to tie it into GMRS as a new, 'Terrell', site. They did not change frequencies, only the authorized emissions codes. IIRC, there is a transmit tower location for GMRS in Forney.
