How do you add Terrell in Sentinel?
If you have the GMRS system in a Favorites list, just create a new Department on your GMRS system & label it as Terrell, then add the two TGIDs that are referenced above. However, if you are only using the main database & location, not a separate Favorites list, you're out of luck until someone submits them to the database.

For now, I am seeing them on the GMRS Simulcast site. If, as I speculated above, that they will create a new site using the frequencies from their (apparently) unused system, then adding a new site would be in order.

Terrell appears to be using site 01, the original GMRS simulcast system. I have not been able to confirm on other two sites to rule out roaming. However considering the call count below, it is pretty certain Site 01 is primary.

Unencrypted call request count

605 1
611 5104
613 7
615 1
617 8
625 534

Encrypted call request count
601 22661
603 73
605 9
607 3
609 6
626 19

Call count on 601 which is likely PD.

So, is Terrell still using their old frequencies? What is the site number now?

Thanks,
Russell
For me I been hearing the Terrell Fire on talkgroup ID 611 of their current P25. The PD moved to TGID 601 but they are encrypted. I saw the Terrell Chief of Police at an event on Sunday and he confirmed they are encrypted. I added the GMRS system and I haven't heard anything on it.

I guess they have them both linked and are in transition. To be clear, I am monitoring the GMRS system site 01 that gave the numbers above. And from above reports are now broadcasting on the same talk group id on both systems, which were not the original numbers referenced on the Terrell P25 site page.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to figure out. GMRS shows no new neighbors to Site 1. Perhaps it's ISSI until they make Terrell a real GMRS site.

Thanks,
Russell

Unless something has changed, the closest site for the GMRS Simulcast (Site 01) is in Forney. I suspect that gives fair coverage in Terrell as long as the officer is not inside a building. As I noted in Post 17, Terrell did add some emission codes to their license back in April. They added 8K10F1D and 9K80D7W, but with no changes to their locations. My guess is that at some point, their existing system will be rolled into GMRS as a new layer, Site 4 (unless somebody else joins the party before them).

Site 1-004 showed up today as a neighbor to Site 1. Very little info, though. Looks like it's using 772.63125 and 769.33125 both from Terrell's old site.

Anyone have an idea when Terrell’s frequency’s will be added to the database? I started with scanners 50 years ago with an Electra crystal based scanner. It helped cement my desire to become a police officer. Through my career, and a series of scanners, I have been able to program what I needed. Now long retired, with my 436, 536, hp1, hp2s, sds100, and sds200, all computer based, all my computer capabilities allow me to do is download the databases. I like having local information, especially during bad weather.

The Terrell site has now been added to GMRS as Site 4. It should be in the Sentinel database update this coming weekend, and will be in next week's download.

Thank you, I appreciate the information! I’ve been following this site for years, but never asked a question.
