AR-DV10 TETRA/DV10 Problem

For several days now I have been having a problem with the TERTRA system frequency in my AR-DV10 receiver.

Up until now everything was receiving well, now there is a problem that the frequency freezes, i.e. the correspondence is on this frequency, but it does not receive on my scanner. It receives when I enter the frequency again, then the TETRA listening works, but only for a moment and then it freezes again. I tried new software and the problem persists.

I am asking for help, I am waiting for your answer, best regards.

I'm sure many others will come in with better information, but if the system was working fine up until now and you have not made any changes in your configuration, my guess is the the problem is not with your receiver, but with the transmitting station you are monitoring.

You should also provide information as to what system you are monitoring.

Might not be documented if outside the USA

Does this happen only with TETRA or with other modes as well? If mode doesn't matter & you're running the latest firmware, perhaps it's an issue with the SD card which would warrant reformatting or replacement. I'd lean towards a card issue since the "freezing" seems to be sporadic. I own a DV10 but don't have any Tetra in my immediate area to do a real world test. Haven't noticed what you described with any other mode, however...

Is it a one frequency system or does it use several frequencies, and in that case can you enter that other frequency and does it do the same freeze when a conversation are using this other frequency?

Thanks to everyone for their help, AOR wrote to me. Below is the answer that helped:
We use AR-DV10 every day to listen to our local airport near the office, and everything works fine.

Here are some hints which will allow you to troubleshoot:

-Set POWER SAVE to off, for full receiver performance.

-Tetra networks use multiple frequencies so unless ALL frequencies of that newtork can be received at optimal level, data errors occur hence some voice cannot be decoded. This is often due to a too weak signal or a too strong signal, which distorts the signal and overloeads the RF stage= data errors. Solution: Do not use an external antenna, only the supplied telescopic antenna, as the RF stage is very sensitive and is prone to overload with an external antenna.

All I had to do was turn it off POWER SAVE and now it works even on other antennas. Thank you and happy listening to everyone. Greetings from Poland, from the city on the Baltic Sea.

Typical firmware bug. It should not try to do anything related to power save when the squelch are open and receives a continuous signal.
AOR are terrible at writing software code.
