Thoughts on the Slim Jim VHF Antenna?

BTW, I have no experience with a Slim Jim antenna. Each situation is unique. It may be your answer..... then, maybe not. (I know. That doesn't help much.)

Thanks, I know there isn’t a magic bullet for every situation. I’ll just do some more experimenting and see what I come up with. Thanks again.

Randomly the signal comes in crystal clear for several hours or a few days in a row. Then it drops out again for a long time.
That's typical for not having line of sight to the transmit antenna. Now when the leaves have fallen of the trees it's much better signal strenghts overall, but still problem if the air is moist and the pine trees pick that up and act as a RF shield and the air then also attenuates more. It's a huge difference at high preasure dry winter days compared to summer time, except for when special conditions occure at extreme high temperatures.

I have a folded dipole with a 300/75 balun and RG6 coax but haven't notice that it picks up less noise than my other antennas. But it might depend of what type of noise there is, how much electric noise there is compared to magnetic.
