It would be nice to have an indicator, maybe just above the posting form at the end of the page, to alert a potential poster that the thread is a zombie – one that was long dormant to which someone added a new posting. Maybe skip threads that are more than a page, to eliminate the intentional ongoing threads.

Example that I almost added to: Traveling to LA

First of all, I'm not sure what this has to do with the RR Database?

Secondly, that thread was created in July 2023 so I'm not sure I agree with your definition that a zombie or dormant thread is one which hasn't seen activity in 2 months.

So, an indicator would be easier than scrolling up one or two posts and looking at the date of the last post? Hmmm

The date is on every post...and in the list of threads it shows the start date of the thread.
