I'm in the process of switching our EMS department over from Vertex portables to the Kenwood TK-5210 (VHF, K2, HW Ver. 3). Most of the programming I've figured out, but I'm running into two things that I can't seem to replicate in the Kenwood software:
1. Set up dual-watch (i.e. radio monitors the selected frequency + one other, such as the home channel)
2. Configure the power-on condition so that the radio always boots up to Zone 1. This one is critical to ensure no missed calls due to the radio being set to the wrong channel. The Vertex portables are configured with only a single channel in Group 1, so that if the radio is set to any other channel and powered off, and back on again - it will always emit the "warning tone" if it's not set to Channel 1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
