The online feed seems to be down on broadcastify. If anyone is interested. I have come across a private feed still active for tps radio traffic.
Even though tps p25 will be encryptejanuary. The analog simulcast will still be available for a couple months, basically used as a backup.
Happy new year Toronto, your police will be encrypted jan 2015. Even though the contract stipulates that the old analogue system must be maintained for one year after the p25 radio system is fully operational. I highly doubt it will remain up to the pan am games in july.
(Review early post by me with a link to the contract agreement between the city and bell with regards to tps radio system implementation)

Do you think this online private feed will remain operational once this is all said and done??
Although nothing is for sure,It's all speculation at this point, I'm just asking your opinion!

It's been up for nearly a year now. Once the patch comes down, you won't hear anything on 3C08.

You are correct, the old system is to be maintained in fully functional good working order for a year just in case the new system fails, other jurisdictions have had well documented problems when switching to digital or encryption so it appears they are keeping the old system there just in case there are problems.

Encrypted groups

I heard 565 today (Dec 13) several times, all encrypted. Does anyone know what 565 (or 548 heard previously) are?

It's had Radio ID's in the Police range on it, so that'd be my guess.

Once the system goes encrypted, it should be fairly easy to figure out what's what TG wise.

In trunktracker lingo, the talkgroups are in the 21000-22000 range. Current encrypted MSS is in the 19000 range.

I was wondering if it may be Emergency Services interop links etc...

41-42-43 DIV Toronto/Scarborough Police

I heard today at 7pm, dispatch on 42 band, tell police to switch to the other digital system. I assume she meant the encrypted one. I didnt hear traffic after that, but 41 and 43 were talking. 42 was off the air.

Project 25 Phase II Question

Hi all, long time member but I don't post all that much. I have a question regarding the TPS changeover to Project 25 Phase II and I was hoping some of the more advanced members could help me out.

I was listening to Div 53 when I heard the dispatcher alert the units that at 0300 they will have to switch over to the Divisional Channel as this channel will cease to exist.

Does this mean that they are now broadcasting in Phase II or did they just change the band?

I have a Uniden BCD396xt and was wondering if I would be able to monitor Div 53 on the Divisional Channel or is it time for a radio upgrade? If I do upgrade, is there a page on RR with the new Phase II database?

Would be nice if Uniden could offer a firmware update so the 396xt could receive Phase II--the new radio is pretty pricey @ $599

Thanks All

Keep in mind what we are hearing is they will be going encrypted once they are fully switched over to the digital system you might want to think twice if all you care about it TPS, so far we think fire and ems might be in the clear but no idea if phase 2, Go transit is phase 2 so if like that you can hear them on a phase 2 radio and there are other area fire depts that are p25.

If you are thinking of buying a new radio just for TPS.....hold off a bit,

Thanks for the advice. Purchasing a new radio really wouldn't justify the cost if all that's available in Phase II is GO Transit.

im finding that listening to the new system is quite a chore.i can only receive the east tower from my work(north Whitby),but not at home(south Oshawa).i took my PSR500 down to the lake this morning as i run my dog every morning.there is a perfect view of the Toronto skyline along the bikepath where i roam and i can barely receive any CC from the south tower.there isnt anything from the east tower.guess im out of luck receiving anything from home.

Yeah I guess you're too far away...

For me in Scarborough things have actually gotten better, I can listen to the 5x and 1x divisions much clearer, and now actually pick up 22 division, where i was never able to before.

I suspect I'll also be able to listen to Toronto Fire West command once TFS switches over.

The East tower signal is so strong that i can actually detach the antenna from my scanner and still pick up full strenght.

At work (downtown) i tune into the south tower and can listen to all 4 corners of the city.

So it's better for me now with two 996XT's and one 396XT, i just hope they wont go phase 2 and/or encrypted.
