I am trying to run treport in Windows ME Dos. I am getting a "Can't Load File Treport.INI" message..The INI file is in the folder along with the exe and I configured it..Anyone have any Ideas on what the problem could be?

What directory are you running treport from, and what directory is treport in? Also, how are you getting to the DOS prompt?

It is in my C directory, I am using ME and going to the DOS prompt and typing:

start C:\tr282\treport.exe

It works this way for trunker and use to work this way for treport as well...But treport just all of the sudden stopped working...Thanks.

Try typing:

command
cd \tr282
treport

Also, when you run trunker, do you use the executable or a batch file?

Do you have treport.ini in the same directory as Treport.exe. Its not like trunker which reads the trackenv.txt file in your root dir. Treport.ini has to be in the same location as treport.exe.

Seriously ... I'll take a look. Is the INI file by any chance marked as "read only" ???

Is there a TREPORT.PIF file in the directory not correctly pointing to the EXE? (Like if you moved Treport to a different directory and copied the contents) Even when you dbl-click the EXE it automatically looks for a PIF file first.

This is the first I've heard of this.

Wayne,

I can double click the exe and treport will open..It's only when I try to open it in DOS do I get the "Can't open treport.ini file"..I'm not sure about the .pif file..I do not see that file along with the contents of treport when I downloaded it..Where would I find that file?

I'm thinking maybe I will just create a DOS partition on my XP machine and see how that goes!

Thanks for your time and help!

Did it ever work in ME? If not, then get away from it. Most be some DOS/ME file access issue or something ridiculous. I really have no clue.

I don't see why people run TREPORT in Windows anyway. You can't multitask with it well. Stick with straight DOS people and it will work like it's supposed to. I don't like supporting Windows users as Windows causes too many stupid problems.

Ya it did work at one point in time Wayne, However, I agree with you..I'm going to use it like it was intended to be used..I am going to create a DOS partion! Thanks for the help,

Steve
