I know that he is sometimes hard to understand (Baker 549) and usually rambles in incomplete sentences, but you can really hear the disrespect in the Dispatchers tone when dealing with this trooper. They hadly want anything to do with him when he is on the radio.

Trooper Gets Little Respect

OHP Trooper Baker 543 has a hard time dealing with Troop B dispatch due to his mostly incomplete sentences an rambling when he talks on the radio. He always sounds like he is in a Life threating situation whenever he talks to dispatch. So much so you can hear the disrespect in the dispatchers tone when they talk to him on the radio and can't wait to get him off of it.

sounds like he needs to work on his radio usage

seriously though, I've heard B-543 before and he seems to do a fine job, I'm sure HQ is getting slammed right now b/c of the weather and tempers are just hot.

He must have a rook that is using his designator, he has always been fine in the past. He has a pretty good DUI arrest record also.

It's wasn't just today, it's most of the time I hear him and granted he does a fine job. But you can sure tell dispatchers almost hate to deal with him. Wish I still had a recorder program running, I would give you some examples.

We had a Trooper like that working at Troop A in Baton Rouge, He
would get so excited on the radio but in time he got over it and calmed down.

Baker 549 is really a nice guy, just sometimes uses the radio to much according to some. I have worked several crashes with 549 and he is great to work with.

I am sure he is a nice guy and not an Ass by any means, it is just the way his radio traffic is that has dispatchers annoyed!

leave him alone,,,if you dont like listenening to him then lock out ohp. his job (which he does incredibly well) does not require him to talk on the radio any other way than the way he talks normally. he has a college education and is a state trooper..who gives a damn how he talks on the radio. and the dispatchers like him just fine.

well, do you just park your scanner on ohp and listen to troopers and make comments about how they talk? jesus. they are not on the radio for your beneft or listening pleasure. maybe they need to come evaluate how you talk at work. next time a trooper stops you be sure and tell them how you really appreciate their radio talk........

how did my post from the other post show up on this post??????

I don't like your message board talk buddy! I'm the message board police!!

I'm just kidding man! Chill! Nothing to get fired up about! I'm sure the trooper does his job well, and is a nice guy! I think what Freqed meant was that there is no need for the dispatchers to disrespect the trooper on the radio. That's the last place it should happen. I took it as a comment regarding the unprofessionalism of the dispatchers, not the trooper.

Just my $0.02! (FWIW)

Thanks Foster,
Glad to see your getting better and still have your witts about you! That was exactly what I was trying to say, I know the Trooper does a great job, and would jump at the chance to meet him someday. Somehow 2 topics on the same subject showed up, so I asked Lou for a merge.
