I would be happy with the numbers for all the patrol zones in the city, tried to look it up on the computer with no luck.

Different cities use various methods to identify areas. My county uses the 4 basic map directions, some cities have precincts, others zones.

That is interesting, what do you mean by the map directions?

It appears it can range from the 100's up to 900's.

Provided the unit ID's don't routinely change, it may be possible for you to establish your own zone map. That would require intensive monitoring while correlating the locations of dispatch calls with unit numbers. It would be the equivalent of placing pins colored by unit on a map for each call. Eventually, you'd have a good idea of each units coverage area, again provided the unit numbers didn't change.

Being familiar of the area, it appears 100-400's are obvious. For me, I was just curious about the 500-900's though I have some potential guesses.

All good questions and information I used to know all those types of things with the City of Albany, but not anymore. The “make your own map” idea is a solid one. I’m going to make a guess that the numbering expansions and or changes may have to do with moving to the county system. Interoperability and all that.

Keep listening I guess?

Thank you for sharing, certainly makes more sense. I've never heard of the CBD one, as that's usually Zone 2. From what I gathered this is what I can contribute:
50# City-wide (I believe)
600's may be School Resource Officers (625)
I'm not sure of 700's as I've only heard of 725 and 703.
K9-# for the K-9 units K9-5,6,7.
It appears 1##=101-103 are TPD, while 104-109 are the RPI Police.

Thank you for sharing, are they like sectors or something? I've found some old audio clips from '80's on youtube.
