I have a Diamond trunk mount that I'm going to install. My question is where should I place it? Would it be better along the side of the trunk over the back wheel or in the center of the trunk close to the rear window.

Thanks,

Jeff

I think it matters less for a receive only installation, but I would mount it in the center of the trunk. Just make sure that the trunk lid can open without the antenna striking the back window glass, otherwise you may have to mount it on the side of the trunk lid.

I'd go with the center of the trunk to make sure it's properly grounded, especially if it's the only antenna on your car. Grounding provides a surprising amount of reception.

I run my trunk lip mount in the center also. I tried both locations you mentioned though, didn't notice much difference. Just make sure you scrape off the paint where the mounting screws contact the underside of the trunk for a good ground.

i put my trunk mount right in the center, and had plenty of room before the glass, i thought it would be close but as you raise the trunk, the edge his higher up, and you should have ample room on most vehicles,
try that
it looks great!
