I'm trying to setup my bc396xlt to run with TRUNK88. I can't seem to get it to work.I keep getting a two tone beep with a message, "can't open master file" etc. Please help. Thanks Tony.

Make sure you are running Trunk88 from the directory where you installed it, and that TRUNK88.CTL exists in that directory.

Once Trunk88 is running, hit ESCape to enter command mode then go to D)efaults choose I for Input (Control Channel) Parameters, and down-arrow to "CC Data Serial Port" and set that to the number (as in COMx:) of the port your scanner is configured to.

Press Ctrl-F2 and see what happens.

I don't want to sound like a broken record but, does Trunk88 support apco 9600 system since it is reading the cc dump on a uniden XT scanner?

Did you verify what port is being used via device manager? You need to make sure it uses the correct com port is set in the configuration file, and is also set for control channel data input and not sound card input.

The blue screen of death sounds like a port conflict crash.

TRUNK88 doesn't run with the privileges required to force a blue screen. This user's problems are caused by the buggy Prolific drivers that came with his Uniden USB to serial cable/adapter.

Back on June 15th, I sent an updated TRUNK88.EXE that works around those bugs to his Yahoo email address, but have received no response from him.
