Hi All,
I hope this question is in the correct forum. I have a Pro 96 I've used for years now. I have a subscription to RR and use Pro 96 to load my rig.
I've having issues picking up the York County Pennsylvania trunk system - (York County Trunking System, York, Pennsylvania - Scanner Frequencies)

I'm able to listen to other trunked systems, but when I try to monitor this one I get what I'm assuming is the control channel, and I see the signal strength on the display, but only get clicking/tapping sound and never see any talk groups or get any audio.

Can anyone confirm if a 96 will be able to monitor this system? Like I said I'm pulling directly from RR, but cant figure out where I'm going wrong.
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,
Jeff

The way I read this, the system is a Harris P25 phase 1 which means you need to input ALL system frequencies not just the control channels.

Hi Bruski
Sorry I wasn't clearer - I have all freqs listed on that page programmed in.
I was looking at the RR page on the Pro 96 and it says Project 25 Standard, NOT Project 25 Phase I. I'm guessing it doesn't support that type trunk but wanted to see if anyone here had any different experiences.

Project 25 Phase I is the same as Project 25 Standard. I don't personally have this unit, so hopefully someone else who does can try to chime in and help a bit more.

Are you programming and importing using software? I'm fairly sure that you will need to program a custom trunking table in order to properly follow the system. Normally a RadioReference Database import should handle this, but it's possible one is not set for this system. A Google search has produced the following you will need to program in order to properly follow the system.

Source: K3FS Pittsburgh Area Scanning Blog: York County TRS

To program in a Pro-96 / 2096 use MOT 9600 CC Multi table : Extended Tables button : Set CH Lo - 0 : CH Hi - 65535 : Base Freq - 500.0 : Offset - 0 : Step - 12.5 : Hit OK : Don't forget to set the bank to type - MOT

Thanks Spitfire - I made those changes, I'll report back and let you know if I'm successful or not.
There was not a custom table when I went into the file I originally created in Pro96, so maybe this is the key.
Either way, thank again. Have a good weekend!

Hey Spitfire,
I made those changes and viola, success! That must have been the issue.
Should I post this in the database forum so they make the change to the RR database?
Thank you again for the help. It was worth it to listen to the action on Halloween.

There's a little Submit button located at the top of the system page on the database if you want to suggestion a change.
