NJSP Help
Even though I am not familiar w/ a Pro-97 I do know that depending on what part of New jersey you want to pick up, the NJSP is divided into three systems. To listen to them you must program each one individually as a different system in a different bank. Here on RadioReference there is a great database that is very accurate. For each system you can go to the New Jersey database and click on the NJSP link.
When programming NJSP you must program all the system frequencies for each system and the talkgroups (use the DEC #s only for that!!!).
Also keep in mind that for NJSP north system (I'm not sure because I live in So. Jersey) some transmissions may be digital, which I'm not sure your scanner can pick up

Don't quote me on that though, because I was picking it up the other night (The signals have been pretty wild at night lately), and it seemed that most of the transmissions were analog which your scanner definitely picks up.
For further info on your specific model, go to the Radioreference homepage, and click on the "Scanner Models" link. There you will find a Wiki page for all scanner models, including yours. If you follow the links, you should be able to get an online manual, and perhaps an easier-to-read manual that should point you in the right direction. If not, you could always google your scanner model and see if you come up with anything.
Good luck and happy scanning
