i updated my trx-1 and now my database is empty. any idea hw i can get it back?

Reprogram it again with the whistler ezscan program. If you saved the config, then you can simply just download to scanner.
If not, then you have to go to the "library import" tab and import everything from the RRdb which doesn't take much.

thanks, i worked at it and fixed.
Your SD card may also be the problem. In EZ Scan, go to Scanner/SD Card at the top left menu. Select Prepare Scanner Memory/SD Card for Use. Do all of the steps in the box that opens. This will go much faster if you remove the card from the radio and use an USB adapter in the computer USB port.
Only use the best quality SD cards, not cheap ones. You get what you pay for.
