TRX-1 and 2 are good scanners, and I am impressed. But EZ Scan is limited. Without good 3rd party options like Butel or ProScan, including good logging software, they still are of limited use. These third party options add so much to ham radio and scanning. I don't have time to listen to scanners 24/7, but I can log lots of activity, have ProScan running in the background on a computer, etc. I hope that Whistler, for whatever reasons, reconsiders.

Regarding importing Color Code, when you go to import, are you manually selecting the column header? Generally I have to do that for many of the columns.

I know it imports correctly for -1 for any, at least on WS 1080. I'll try to on the other versions later to confirm.

Yeah, I'm selecting the column header manually. Yes, -1 Imports correctly for me too. It's just when I try to import an actual color code it shows as if I entered -1 "*". Slot and TGID are imported correctly.

I just tried on the latest version of the TRX-1 EZ Scan and both 8 and 10 imported correctly as Color Codes. What software are you using?

Can you post or email me the string you are trying to import. Or the file.

I normally just copy from the clipboard than uploading files. I haven't tried it through the file upload method.

I tried with a file too, that didn't work either. I tried to emulate the format you use for the quick import. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

for file upload i'd try without any spaces/tabs after the commas, and if its true csv, c f M... should be quoted.

CSV has nothing to due with commas or quotes.

Let's remote connect. I tested it in TRX1 EZ Scan before posting. Download TeamViewer and email me with your code.

The delimiter by no means has to be a comma, nor should it be in most instances. For example, I almost always use "|". Indeed, in the non-Windows based systems, " " (tab), is the default delimiter.

Additionally, escaping with quotes is often silly at best and useless at worst. Many of your desired fields will contain quotes as part of the data, so telling it to escape with quotes just causes more problems.

CSV is about delimiting data by column and row. It doesn't really matter how that's accomplished. In many instances, the comma and quote work poorly, but MS determines all of their defaults around salary spreadsheets.

I'm on the third computer, color code still won't import. I'm giving up. I can import everything else so that's good. I'll just add the color codes after I import.

Hmm. That's interesting that it won't work. Perhaps we can remote connect and see what's up. I don't think it's you, by the way. EZ Scan can be some funny software.

I asked Butel when I received the TRX-1 and he stated that he has no software for this unit. Didn't answer if he was going to write some.

I received my TRX-1 last night. As soon as I read the SD card for the first time, the software started taking my color codes when I did paste from clip board. Huh? What? I don't even want to know, it works now, that makes me happy.

Thanks for the help.

Is there a way to select all in the software? I have 800 Conv freqs that I want to change the scannlist for and don't feel like selecting all one by one.

Besides that this software is horrible, Was the TRX-1 software made for an elementary school project?

Select the first row you want the changes to begin at. Scroll down to the last row hold shift and select. You can then change the scanlist for all the selected rows. If there are a lot of rows it could take a minute or so for the change to complete.
