HRO has the FT-7900R for $329.95 minus $20 rebate $305. I haven't read anything negative about this radio other than the true dual band.

Hi, over the holidays I bought the FT7900, the Arrow 146/440 J-pole and the Times Microwave LMR400 cable to use for my base unit and love it. I have the antenna in the attic for now but plan to put it outside later, I have no problem getting out on simplex or repeters from 30 or more miles around. Hope this helps, John

We have a Ham Fest coming up in May, just not sure I can wait a whole month to get a radio!

Might get one now (mobile for the Jeep) and get another at the Ham fest for a base!
