There are two Project 25 Simulcast systems in Macomb County, MPSCS and Warren Public Safety. Since both are Simulcast, that would explain why you are getting garbled transmissions. The Pro 96 is not designed to handle Simulcast transmissions.

There are only two scanners that are designed to handle Simulcast. The Uniden SDS 100 and SDS 200.

In some cases you might be able to find a sweet spot in your house, where the garble might be less or not at all.

Each bank on the Pro-96 can use only a single site. You need to set up a bank with only the Macomb County Simulcast site on the MPSCS statewide system. Then, program the Macomb County talkgroups you want in that bank. As stated above, P25 Simulcast can be a problem for the Pro-96. Do the following only if you are able to hear talkgroups and they are cutting out or garbled: Remove the cover and adjust VR4 for the best P25 decode. It is marked on the circuit board. That adjustment made a big difference for the scanner I worked on.

Be advised Warren has their talkgroups in MPSCS since they have been moving to that last couple years and we still have the rest of em at -

For simulcast, less signal is more. -> Better.
If you have an 800 MHz antenna, remove it and put on the stock antenna.
Also try in the frequencies section for ARC96, try turning on the attenuator for the frequencies.

If nothing helps, remove the antenna and try the paperclip antenna to try and kill the signal. All you need is one tower out of the seven in use ideally and you'll get the whole county. -

Most all on this site are enthusiasts and will suggest the SDS100 $650 or SDS200 $700 since they are designed for simulcast areas and will spend your money :D , but people may not be able to afford them. All the current Unidens will do better on simulcasts as well.

Try laying the pro-96 on its side and or back and then move the radio in a circle while you are listening to a station and see if you can find a position where you can hear the station better
