I LIVE OUT HERE IN CLEVELAND, WEST OF TULSA. I USED TO BE BIG IN SCANNING 7 OR 8 YEARS AGO AND I GOT OUT OF IT AND NOW I AM JUST GETTING BACK IN IT AND I AM TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH ALL THIS DIGITAL SCANNING AND STUFF AND WHO IS USING IT AND ALL. IT SEEMS I STILL HEAR A LOT OF ACTIVITY FROM POLICE IN TULSA IN THE NORMAL TRUNKED 800MHZ BAND. SO IS TULSA DIGITAL?

I believe so and before someone mean says something would you mind turning off your caps lock? It makes it easier to read.

The Tulsa system should be digital by the end of the year. It is still in the testing stages. Some of the specialty units are also encrypted.

You would think that as often as I am wrong I would be more used to it by now.

NO not all talk groups will be encrypted, nor will it be used all the time. SOT/Hostage negotiators are the only confirmed ones and I beleive that theirs is already in place. Rumor has detestvies/street crimes and supervisors may get those but that is nothing more than a RUMOR. I know Broken Arrow Swat and Supervisors have encryption capabilities, On their first radios it killed the run time of the battery and was not used much because of that.
