I am completly new to this forum and very poorly informed about radio tecnology in general. Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this question.
I have a Bell 9241 HD dual channel PVR Satellite TV receiver. I recently installed an HDMI extender so a TV can be run in a room about 60 ft. away as the crow flies throught several walls. The issue is that the UHF PVR controller is right at the outer margin for reliable communication. The antenna on the 9241 is a simple wire 6in. long attached with a co-ax connector. Is it advantageous to move the antenna closer to the controller using co-ax cable? What are the trade-offs of cable vs air attenuation, cable quality etc.?
In short, does anyone have any ideas on how to make this communication reliable?
Thanks and regards, John.
