I am new to scanners and a friend gave me his old BC350C scanner. I have programed in our local FD and PD frequencies, and can hear the FD fine, but never hear anything for the PD.

We live in Canal Fulton, OH 44614 and I am trying to listen to 158.73000.

Thanks for any help you can supply.

According to the RRDB that freq is Deprecated meaning No Longer used

There is a note in the DB that
Canal Fulton PD uses this system.

The analog scanners no longer work like they used to... many departments are now using digital modes, and only the newer, more expensive models will receive them.

I have heard rumours that every agency in Stark will soon "be forced to" make the switch to the county system, (which will become part of MARCS eventually,) now that the recent tax increase passed.

Your only options to receive the PD is to use one of the feeds on Broadcastify, or upgrade to a newer, digital scanner.

Canal Fulton PD is 100% on the Stark Co. 800 digital system.
You will need a digital capable scanner to hear them.
Canal Fulton Fire will be switching to digital radios soon as well.

All,

Thank you fro answering my question. A digital scanner will make a nice gift for my wife (and good excuse for me to get one). I will need to do some research to figure out what best fits our needs.

Thanks again,

Ron
