Awesome. You guys are great. I just spent over an hour reading this thread. What a wealth of info. Now to try and get DSD to work  I was happy to read privacy wasn't an option, at least yet :D

I read the NID is an editable field in the CPS, do we know for certain if this is a unique ID? Are the installers assigning them at will, or are they following some list somewhere? My system is 163.

Apparently it comes hard coded in the Site Controller when purchased from Motorola.

Thanks, A few more. I see it logs users found, does it log groups found? Also what exactly am I getting in the capture csv file? Also, any tips on the easiest way to determine which VC is which LCN?

Are you using the quick log option? I don't normally use that one myself, I just use the log to file which saves all activity to a text file. When you are done logging open up the file in a text editor and scroll down the the very end.... There you will see a summary of the radios and groups that were observed in use.

As far as determining which voice channel is which lcn, no we haven't nailed that down yet. If I get a little free time this week I will try to take another look at that.

No, I'm using the full log. I am getting user ID's but do not see any group ID's:

The following 9 users were logged ..
12 GROUP (Only used channel 2)
17 GROUP (Only used channel 2)
23 GROUP (Only used channel 2)
501 Group Calls only (Only used channel 2)
504 Group Calls only (Only used channel 2)
528 Group Calls only (Only used channel 2)
602 Group Calls only (Only used channel 2)
724 Group Calls only (Only used channel 2)
733 Group Calls only (Only used channel 2)

This from monitoring the CC. I see similar on the VC's. I'm looking at it as well seeing if I can figure out LCN's. This is new to me as of today. I went to listen to my local casino who use to be analog conventional and heard the data bursts and CC. I knew right away what I had and came here. So I'm learning :)

Actually it's right there in front of you :)

The numbers with 'GROUP' beside them are group ID's. The numbers with 'Group calls only' are radio ID's. It doesn't show you which radio was seen on which group though (however you can just do a search of the logged data to find that).

And yes... It's fun to discover a new system and put the pieces together! We are pretty much all learning as we go here, but we have made some decent progress.

You certainly have. You guys have provided a wealth of information. I need to go reread it all again tomorrow when my brain and eyes are fresh.

Glad you like the program and thanks for your kind words.

The capture_dump.csv records raw incoming data when the Capture option is enabled. I added it in the early days of developing the program to help me debug and run tests. These days though it really doesn't have much purpose and I will be removing it when I get the chance.

Hey guys,

Haven't had the chance to take a look at this thread in a while, but I was back in the San Francisco Bay Area for a couple weeks this summer and found another Connect Plus system.

It belongs to RFC Wireless, and the control channel on 451.0875 was reporting Network:119, Site:4. Site 4 is located on Grizzly Peak in Alameda County.

I have been going through some of the systems here in southeast Michigan from the different licensees that show systems online.. I am getting the same network ID on 2 different companies systems. Now I thought motorola set the network ID? I have found sites 1 and 2 different pairs with the same network ID from different sites... So is the network ID really set from motorola.. or are these 2 radio companies sharing costs of controllers?

Does it support just capacity plus systems.. or stand alone trbo systems as well.. I was wondering about that since you can have a non capacity plus system with different groups on each slot as well...

Feel free to submit the talkgroup ID for a conventional TRBO channel (if known). We will just have to tack it into the description field in parenthesis for now but it's better than nothing. :)

Does anyone have an older build (Pre-42) of DMR Decode handy they could send me? I don't believe the current version is properly displaying the Site ID on Connect Plus systems (actually only site ID's over 7 would be incorrect). When we originally sorted out the SLCO=10 packets last year Connect Plus systems had a max of 6 sites, so we focused on the 3 bits displaying the Site ID. Connect Plus now supports 35 sites, meaning we need at least 6 bits to properly display 35 (100011). It should be as simple as widening the the area that DMR Decode is currently looking at for the Site ID. This recently came to my attention as I was seeing some sites logging as Site 0, which is not a valid ID. Then it dawned on me that as it stands now any thing over a value of 7 (111) would likely show up as 0. With an older build of DMRDecode that shows the SLCO=10 packets I would be able to confirm this.

Hi Forts & All
I have just uploaded build 47 onto Github. This displays the binary contents of SLCO 10 messages after the decode.

Note you could well be right in that at the moment we only have a 3 bit Site ID but there are 5 bits in front of these we don't know the purpose of. So some or all of them could be part of the Site ID.

Let me know what you find.

Regards

Ian

Thanks for the new build Ian. I have confirmed that the site I am monitoring is showing a Site ID of 10:

1010 000011001010 00001010 0000 (Network 202, Site 10)

Still not sure what the 1010 at the start is for. We know the next 12 bits are ok for the Network ID. So given this info I propose we change the Site ID to the 8 bits after the Network ID.
