When it s online,does it comes with upgraded firmware for DMR reception or later with a firmware like G4&G5?

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Unication G3 DMR?

I got my G3 about 20 minutes ago. Trying to load a profile with a DMR model number (at 67), but the pager is a 66 which does not allow DMR. The DMR upgrade changes the model number so it will work.
I am looking for the instructions for the DMR upgrade.

In theory it should work better. The Unicatoins are commercial grade receivers. They are tuned to specific range(s) where a scanner is all band.
I hope someone still chimes in with an answer to your question but asking if the unication RX as well or better then a scanner should be a simple yes its better.

I m looking everday on Youtube ,still nothing.
I have it from a very reliable source that I just spoke to on the phone that the units that were shipped with dmr out of the box were halted due to Motorola complaint(Licensing reasons)..Unication is in the process of working out a deal with the licensing..Yes we all know what that means..DMR will be a paid upgrade unless Unication takes the hit..(Fat Chance IMO)
I dont feel like $25 for licensing DMR is all that bad. I will have my G4 for many years so a one time fee for DMR is reasonable.
Now if it can do Cap plus, Conn plus and Cap max, even better.

Fee for the Motorola specific adaptations of DMR maybe. Otherwise DMR is just a standard that Motorola happens to use.
