What version of the G5 do you have? VHF or UHF? If UHF, what frequency segment? As for the CFP @ Ohare, I believe they are still using the original Smartnet system, but I could be wrong about that. The G5 will not track older SmartNet systems. If you are programming the OEMC system, did you put in the proper site info a control channel for Ohare Field? Again, I don't know if they are actively using that system yet.

** EDIT ** I just noticed you stated the VHF model. Schiller Park PD is on UHF, not VHF. So you would not be able to monitor them on the G5.

PS - SPPD is primarily on 471.2875. I see a note that states that the frequency is also patched to SC21 TG 3981. Honestly I can't say I've heard them on SC21. I only listen when I am in the area and I always seem to catch them on the primary UHF frequency, not the SC21 TG. So if they are on SC21, I just haven't heard them.

Yes, Schiller Park PD and everyone that used to be with them (except for River Grove) on the old Net 15 471.2875 are on StarCom TG 3981 now, I don't even know if 471.2875 is still active at all, I haven't gotten a hit on it in a long time. O'Hare still uses the analog Motorola system for 99% of things (which the G5 will not follow, as stated), their site on the Chicago P25 system is up and running but there is barely any activity on it yet and really isn't worth programming.

I have a vhf version which I programmed and can listen to. When I program schiller park, norridge I get signal bars but when they speak I hear nothing. I pick it up on my sd100 ok.

I’m guessing that you might not be using the site that SPPD affiliates onto. If you are using the same site as your SDS100 then possibly you have some incorrect information loaded up on the G5 for that site. Check to make sure you are using the correct site number in the setup and that TG Scan zone/button is using that site and TG.

Export your codeplug, zip it, and upload here is we can look at it for you.

YOUR (alert mode) in step 5 for your BOX with the talk-group for MCD is set to (silent) needs to changed to (tone) and in No.4 tab your talkgroups are set to NONE for Tone. Needs to be TONE *that's the change to the PPS Unication made some time back. Has to be ON to hear things. The other stuff like Frequencies, Protocol, WACN, RFSS System ID and SITE no. all look ok. YOU won't hear the Ohare DOA talk-group on Starcom21 site 149 because it's a part of an entirely different FREQUENCY set up and SYSTEM from Ohare Airport. You can't just plug in any old talkgroup listed somewhere and hear it. It also only has a like a 5 mile broadcast radius around the Airport. There are now 10 different MCD talkgroups listed in the RRef database under the COOK CO talkgroup listing. I only hear stuff on 3981 and heard ENC on 3985 on another scanner. So ENC is in play on some of those. You also probably have to be really local to hear anything on those other TGroups if they're actually in use. I've never heard a thing on them, only seen traffic for (ENC) going through on Pro96Com's software.

Further about the CPD Ohare - that system is a Smartnet II Analog system. The G5 won't be able to track the older Smartnet systems. When CPD Ohare switches to the newer OEMC system then you will.

Looks good. Only thing is changing voice buffering to (enable) because saving it the way you have it (for step 5 in your Zone box will tell you that the first part of transmissions may be cut off. I have had mine like this and never noticed a thing like that though. Your SDS100 is picking up (more) because you probably have more things in it? This PPS shows you only have 1 talk-group loaded on the G5 and 1 uhf freq.

One other thing. I checked your old posts. You're closest to tower site 115? that's way up in Lake County IL and you're trying to get tower 149 down here in Crook Co. Are you using a bigger antenna for the SDS 100 or something? ALSO .... I see some confusion what you have? you say in posts the G5 you have is a VHF ... the profiles you chose to create in the PPS from the scroll drop down are showing UHF frequency ranges? What Pager do you have? press the button on the lower right, scroll to *INFORMATION* at the bottom and select. It will show what you have. If you chose the wrong model number to create a profile from? that might be in play here too G5b67BF-SXUDEN1401UNI might be the wrong one if you have a VHF
your band on the PPS form you posted shows 700/800 (763-776, 851-870 Mhz) + UHF D (450-512 MHz) ?? which is it? you have a VHF or UHF pager? you need to select the right frequency range model number when creating the whole thing.
