• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Just recently started working on this. I am having an issue. I found one other user online on elightbars.org also having the same problem with no posted resolution.

I am on Trunking-Scan. Push to Listen is set to no in the channel knob settings. But it is still forced to push to listen. How can I fix this?

Just to add I did find some threads here that recommended the "tone" setting in the P25 system as well as setting the alert mode to "tone."

Now, unintuitive as this is aside when you have your page set up on a system with 500+ TGIDs and 24 zones and now you need to redo everything because you have to update the system file with an csv import...

I tried this fix, and it still didn't work for me unfortunately. So I am not sure what else I might be missing.

What are you trying to listen to? Link the system please and let us know if you are trying to use Two-Tones or just scanning or what.

I am looking to use Two Tones, but at the moment I am just scanning.

I have the TwoTones set up for the conventional page channel but while monitoring the system I will eventually want it to use the digital page channel for that purpose.

But specifically on my current issue, audio works when set to trunking-monitor to scan the whole system, does not work when its set to trunking-scan with specific talkgroups. Calls are shown but it is stuck in push-to-listen mode.

And when you push it does it play clear audio, or is it garbled?
Yeah, clear as can be. Push to listen works great. The problem is, on this specific knob setting, I need it to monitor the selected talk groups openly, not be push to listen. The setting is toggled to No but it still is stuck in push to listen.

Okay so it seems that the issue was that if you're not "On Duty" all calls become push to listen. Thats a bit frustrating for those that want to listen in an off duty state, but what can ya do!

Got it all working. Thank you for the assistance
