Is the Uniden Bearcat BC895XLT the only non-handheld model with an alpha-numeric display which will receive what is left of the 220Mhz (1.25 Meter) VHF Amateur Radio band?

Thanks

Uniden Bearcat BC-895XLT (Trunktracker)
Frequency range:29-54 / 108-174 / 225-512 / 806-956 MHz
Cellular blocked in the US
The 1.25-meter, 220 MHz or 222 MHz band is from 222 to 225 MHz.
it seems to start a bit high for it.

According to specifications page 55 of the BC895XLTom.pdf user guide it shows the following:

Frequency Range: 29.0–29.7 MHz 10 Meter Amateur Band

29.7–50.0 MHz VHF Low Band
50.0–54.0 MHz 6 Meter Amateur Band
137–144 MHz Military Land Mobile
144–148 MHz 2 Meter Amateur Band
148–174 MHz VHF High Band
216–225 MHz VHF High Band

Above bands in 5 kHz steps

108–137 MHz Aircraft Band
225–400 MHz UHF Air Band
400–420 MHz Federal Government
420–450 MHz 70 cm Amateur Band
450–470 MHz UHF Standard Band
470–512 MHz UHF “T” Band
806–956 MHz “800” Band

Above bands in 12.5 kHz steps

Am I reading this incorrectly?

I pulled out my old BC9000XLT which is similar in physical form at least and it had no problems receiving in the 1.25m band.

I just did a quick search and it looks like all of the scanners will scan 222-225.

I have an 895 and yes it does cover the 1.25 meter band, but it is only a numeric display, no alpha on these. Only the BC9000xlt and BC8500xlt have the alpha tags in this style radio, they are older models but same cabinet style.

I would go by what the manufacturer put in the owners manual and ignore all other "sources".
Yes, I now see that. It's seems a bit incredible that some sources could be missing pertinent information.

I tend to look at the images of a product first then try to seek out more information.

One of things I do not understand with manufacturers is the tendency to jump around when deciding on model numbers. At first glance I would think that a BC9000XLT was newer than the BC895XLT.

I looked at a BC9000XLT and noticed it did not have a serial data connector on the back like the BC895XLT.

Seems the serial connector was added as an additional feature to the BC895XLT?

I have seen other BC895XLTs listed for sale which did not have the 5-pin connector on the back, or the black patch covering. The connector just wasn't there.
