So, the idea of using a GPS case didn't work out?

This is pretty interesting stuff. I don't know when I'll have the time to start working on this, but I'd really like to try it.

No the Nextion displays have the attached pc board that is too large to fit inside. A 4D systems display would fit, also a raw display using an Ra8875 driver board.

Working on some 3D case prints. I'm thinking two USB ports (control and power/charge). 2.5mm power port, port opening for the Teensy micro USB for updates, display SD card slot. I will make it a bit taller to accommodate them and a thin liion battery pack inside the back cover.

Very nice...but what capability will the GPS add to the remote head? Or will it be for the scanner?

3D printing the cases is cool. The only thing that seems to be missing is a way to mount this in a vehicle. I suppose a smart phone mount of some sort would work.

I can see that I'm going to have a new technology to bang my head on the desk trying to figure out.

I picked up an Ender 3 Pro at Microcenter this last weekend.

I got a case of 67 gray project boxes that fit the displays really well once a window is milled into them. I'm experimenting with the best way to cut them with a small CNC.

I use a universal clamping phone mount I found at Love's for $20.

Sds100 and 200. Probably add 536 and 996xt types later. I'm trying to get the GPS stuff finished but having a difficult time getting a signal lately.

GPS is working. I extended the antenna to the window so I could test inside here.

Now I just need to finish getting the final case dimensions where I want them and I need to print some small plastic plates with standoff feet to support the USB ports. I found some tiny micro USB charge/boost boards that will take an input and regulate it to 5v and also charge a liion battery while boosting its output to 5v (made for a small phone power bank). I'm going to try to use those for the power input, unless you guys prefer a simple 2.5 mm (or whatever it is) typical round 12v Uniden sized power input.

Preferences?
