Has anyone else been having trouble reaching Uniden by phone? I called them last week about a scanner I had in for repair and was able to reach them right away and was quite pleased with the service I got over the phone. I'm trying to reach them over the phone this week about another scanner that's in for repair and I seem to keep getting the answering service (no IVR, just straight to a live person or queue) and they've told me that someone would call back, but there has been no return call. I'm calling the 1-800-297-1023 number that I've always called from the website.

I thought maybe it was just me, so I tried calling from another number with a different area code and had the same result. I just want to check on the status of my repair without having to "just wait a little longer."

I just called that number right ( 1-800-297-1023 ) now and a very polite and friendly lady answered. Hello, and thank you for calling Uniden. To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to?

As I said in my post, it's not going to the usual IVR, but rather a live human being who can only take a message, that doesn't seem to be generating a return call. Thanks anyway.

Im sorry, I did not see anything like that in the original message.

I did not have any trouble.

Call up and tell the lady you would like to speak to someone about not getting a call back or push her to look into your scanners status that's in their facility for repair. Some times you have to get pushy with people and or go above their heads.

I tried that, of course. She was unable to help. She actually tried to act as if she didn't hear me, so I said "Did you hear what I said about..." To which she replied that she was only able to take a message. The point is, I shouldn't have to jump up and down and scream to get a simple answer about the status of my radio. Also, where is Uniden and why do I keep getting their answering service instead of the IVR that will allow me to get directed to someone who can actually help.

This whole experience is getting rather irritating and frustrating. C'mon, Uniden, you're better than this.

The part where I said "I seem to keep getting the answering service (no IVR, just straight to a live person or queue)."

How long have they had the scanner 2 to 4 weeks is normal unless they are waiting on parts.
They've had it for 2-3 weeks. That doesn't bother me. It's the not being able to reach them all of a sudden that is of concern. I'm sure it won't be long, I just like knowing when to look for the delivery. It's an expensive item and I don't want it just sitting outside until I get home. I can make arrangements for someone to take it inside, if I can get the tracking info and know when it's coming.

Uniden is in Ft Worth Tx I believe and I think time wise you are 1 hour behind them but in any event, their cs has gone down hill rapidly since covid.

Sign up a free account at Fedex and set notifications to alert you to packages coming to your address. They use Fedex for return shipping so as soon as your shipping label is created you will be notified based on your Fedex account notification preferences.

That's a great idea about the FedEx notifications. I'll do that.

It's weird about the phone support, though. I got my other radio back a week ago and they were great. This week is a much different story. Oh well, live and learn.

Seems they used to have a site set up to see status but others had reported it no longer works or was not working. When my Sds200 returned to me, no signature was required and Fedex just left it on the stoop. I was here and it sat for a few seconds and was up and running within minutes.

That's where my concern lies. I wish they would just send an email when they ship it, but they don't.

I'd still love to know if anyone has had any trouble/success reaching Uniden support by phone. Still no joy for me. There's another issue beyond shipping that I'd like to check on.

Again, all I'm asking is if anyone has had any trouble/success reaching Uniden support by phone. Thanks.

My experience with reaching the Uniden support (one phone call) has been positive as they answered my question. With no other follow ups, my repaired /replaced SDS 200 was received in a few business days. I sent a Thank you note for their services and efficiencies.

That was the case with the previous repair I had sent in about 6 weeks ago. Unfortunately, something has changed since then.

Well good luck. I got the notification from UPS that they had received it a couple of weeks ago. Just can't seem to get a hold of Uniden for a status update to save my life.
