I was unable to get Sentinel installed on my Mac. I have the M1 Chip.

I installed Parallels Windows 11 for Mac M1 chipset and originally was unable to get the Sentinel software to install. I kept getting an error with Runtime.

I contacted Parlelles support via chat and they were an excellent help. The support representative did a remote session and installed some Runtime drivers.

I'm pasting below the follow-up email I received after the session with the support rep.

I was this thread helps others who are on a Mac and need to run Windows to use software like the Uniden Sentinel software for Windows 11

As per our conversation, you could not install Uniden Sentinel Software due to .Net Framework on your Mac M1. Although it is out of our scope, we had attempted to help you install .Net Framework by installing the x86 version from Download .NET 8.0 (Linux, macOS, and Windows) additionally, we have enabled .Net Framework in Windows Features by following steps in Install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 - .NET Framework

After the installation, the Uniden Sentinel Software worked correctly.

I wonder if it was just a goof during install? When I installed Sentinel on M1 MBP via VMware Fusion
last month, I don’t recall getting any .NET errors. Then again Parallels has a different way of acquiring the Windows 11 boot image, so maybe what they acquire doesn’t have that feature flag enabled by default?

Even on bare metal modern workstations don't know what to do. I keep a basketcase macpro6,1 running Windows 10 around just for oddball radio software that gets annoying in virtualization. I got my dad a HomePatrol 2 for father's day (he goes on a lot of fishing trips where you get dropped off by plane that picks you up a week or two later) and he plugged it in to his new Surface and he said it went totally bonkers and he had to power cycle the computer.

He didn't take better notes than that for me, he wasn't sure what it said when he plugged it in. Regardless I'm looking at ways to create a Windows 11 or Windows 10 VM under _hyperv_ on an actual windows computer to avoid needing to install software that has been EOL since _2011_ are you KIDDING ME, Uniden? I will never understand why people tolerate this. g-d forbid I got him a Whistler or something, I had to enable unsigned drivers on that computer to plug in a Whistler 1080/Pro668 and have it be seen by the computer at all. Mini USB interface naturally because why would we want to go faster than 45Mbps, right? Yeesh. These companies are a mess when it comes to software.
