Is it a Uniden GPS? Did you change anything other than unplug GPS and later plug it back in? Are you inside or outside? Does the display show the GPS is connected?

Did you check your baud rate?
BTW, many of us customize our displays to show the lat/long, so we know when the unit actually has a GPS lock.

GPS's uses a calendar it downloads from the satellites. If you do not have the GPS in use for a couple of weeks it usually will need to download a new calendar and that could take 20-30 minutes. I bought a GPS from Ebay that where delivered from China and that needed to be powered on and have GPS connection for at least 30 minutes until it started to work. Then I had it disconnected for 3-4 weeks and tried it again and it took at least 15 minutes until it worked again. When it has the current calendar it starts to work in seconds, depending of how many satellites it needs to receive, that have been set in its configuration.

When I was dealing with GPS receivers for taxi cabs I downloaded the calendar from a website and load into the GPS's so they would start working directly when they where installed.

I’m not sure what you have tried. Summarizing some useful responses above:

Does GPS appear on the sds100 display?

What do you have the baud rate set to?

Uniden scanners are typically default to 4800bps. Be sure to set your scanner to 9600bps when using the BC-SGPS.

How are you powering the gps?

If you have updated the radio with Sentinel recently and did not save the Profile the baud rate probably changed. Like said above be sure you have the right baud rate. The square Uniden GPS uses 9600, the round one uses 4800. If I forget to adjust my Profile I have to return my scanner to the proper setting after updating it.

Press Menu>Set your Location>Set Up GPS> Set Serial Port and select the proper rate. Then press the Avoid key to resume your prior operations.
