yeah keystone will not take pagers on trade in and all companies would end up having to upgrade to the minitor 7 if keystone doesn't have any of the 6s left since Motorola discontinued the 6s

so are they completely getting rid of union paging frequency or are union pagers still good on the uhf frequency
They are gonna phase out the UHF frequency. This is all a prelude to P25 in the future.. That was the reply I got right from them on their Facebook page. That'll be it for me, I ain't got no $1000 for a scanner.

Here is a copy/paste from their page:

UC dispatch and Fire 1 are patched. The UHF dispatch channel is slowly being phased out over the next couple years

Chris Eppley Any talk of P25? Thanks for the info! Having that scanner one night alerted me to a crash a good friend was in and I was able to take care of things immediately for him.

If they go p25 won’t you still hear dispatch like the ones with east central (Col/Mont) and Northumberland county

One would ask which fire dispatch do you want to program. Both have fire dispatch frequency and one has a pager frequency 460.375

Dispatch now tames place on Fire 1. That's the main repeater and ops channel. Weird. And I don't care what anyone says, it all sounds like crap. I have to turn radios up almost full because the audio levels are so low and any other outfits on unrelated fequencies almost run me out of the room because their levels are normal.

Wonder who the tech figured this up. I thought one fire 1 would be easier than have one with a paging frequency

If you are a fielder user and have both counties in your mobile it would go to either Fire 1 right

God, I don't know what they did. Both police and fire channels now are full of heterodynes and squeals. Sounds like two repeaters at once on each frequency, one is strong and the other cuts in and out. If there are multiple sites now they interfere with each other and it all gets unintelligible. Anyone else hear this? Happens on every radio of mine. In all my years of listening, I never heard anything like this.

One thing I can say is, as bad as Union F1 sounds the UHF paging frequency sounds better if you are just using it to monitor. When I'm at work in Montgomery I can hear comms on my UHF Minitor 6 very clear. Now my M5 on Fire 1 sounds like it's fighting for a signal.

TBH we all knew P25 was coming sooner or later. We just have to hope they don't have everything E. Maybe we can get lucky and they we believe in community support and transparency in their communications.

The patch of some of the frequencies are sounding better. Does anyone know what frequencies that are not being used by the police
