Today I tapped a scanner and connected it to my laptop, and after playing with it for a while I got it running (the "inverted" option !!).

Using it on bell fleetnet, I dont see all the cool info like frequencies, and other related text information. Any one know how to configure it so it does?, I dont see any information for "labels", no bandplans, etc.. I can see active ID's pop up, and go away as they get used, and hear the conversation on the voice scanner.

Any info would be cool, thanks!

Hi Dave;

Do you mean this system?

Yes - you can either type in the info (add labels to talkgroups) yourself or download the info from this site.

A note about the bandplan. If you click the link above, the bandplan is there in the DB. You can manually enter this info into the program. It will use this to fill in the frequencies. The next version of the program will download the bandplan together with the talkgroup data.

I can see active ID's pop up, and go away as they get used, and hear the conversation on the voice scanner.
Cool. Which radio(s) are you using?

Hi.

After some more messing with it, I found the "download" option. Then all the cool stuff appeared!

Yes that is the system Im using, but Im kinda lost on how to enter the band plans, I go to "insert" then "band", enter the freq and spacing, (not sure where to enter offset). But it never seems to save. Im not sure what Im doing wrong.

Im using a pair of unidens, bcd92xlt ( I think) for disc tap and a bcd396t for voice.

This may be a bug in the program. The offset is the min LCN - but the program wants two - min and max. Set the max to one less than the offset of the next range. Set the max of the last range to 759 (for Motorola).

Ok thanks, Ill give that a try..

Will unitrunker control a bcd396t scanner?

I want to use it to be able to lock to a TG, to monitor it. (I could use pointers on how to do that if such a scanner can be controlled :) )

Thanks!

Not with the version you have. Send me a PM if you'd like to try this out.

Try pressing F3 or F4 to "Hold" onto a conversation.

If I recall correctly, you can manually enter this info into the .pln file with a text editor. I think that's what I did when using UniTrunker on Fleetnet. Unfortunately I was discouraged by the limited space for radio and talkgroup id's, so I switched back to WinTrunker.

The LCN and frequency columns have been combined so that should provide some extra room for group labels.
